Class Description:
Create two one-of-a-kind keepsake ornaments using the beautiful and unique medium of encaustic!
In this festive 2½-hour class, we’ll work on natural birch rounds, approximately 4–5 inches in diameter, using beeswax, pigment, and heat to create charming winter-inspired scenes.
I’ll guide you through the encaustic process as we explore layering, color, texture, and mark-making to transform each little slice of birch into its own miniature work of art. We’ll embrace the natural beauty and character of the wood, allowing each ornament to be completely unique.
You’ll create two finished ornaments—perfect for hanging on your own tree, giving as heartfelt handmade gifts, or enjoying as little pieces of art throughout the winter season.
No encaustic experience is necessary. Come ready to experiment, create, and discover the magic of painting with wax!
