Class Description:
Create two miniature works of art in wax using the beautiful and unique medium of encaustic!
Using natural birch rounds as our canvas, approximately 4–5 inches in diameter, we’ll explore the beautiful medium of encaustic to create winter-inspired pieces filled with color, texture, and your own individual touch.
I’ll guide you through the encaustic process as we explore layering, color, texture, and mark-making to transform each little slice of birch into its own miniature work of art. We’ll embrace the natural beauty and character of the wood, allowing each ornament to be completely unique.
You’ll create two finished ornaments—perfect for hanging on your own tree, giving as heartfelt handmade gifts, or enjoying as little pieces of art throughout the winter season.
No encaustic experience is necessary. Come ready to experiment, create, and discover the magic of painting with wax!
