Create a little winter forest—layer by layer.
In this encaustic ornament workshop, we’ll transform 2” x 2” wood tiles into miniature works of art. We’ll begin by using richly colored inks directly on the wood to create our first layer of trees, then build the forest forward with layers of translucent encaustic wax.
As each new row of trees is added and fused, the wax creates a beautiful sense of depth and atmosphere—as though you’re looking deep into a quiet winter forest.
You’ll explore the magic of combining ink, wood, and encaustic wax while creating a collection of one-of-a-kind ornaments to hang on your tree, give as handmade gifts, or enjoy as tiny pieces of art throughout the winter season.
No encaustic experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and come ready to play with layers, color, and a little bit of wax magic!
