Over the course of two 2-hour sessions, you’ll create a vibrant field of poppies on a 16×20 canvas while learning the essential techniques and principals that make oil painting such a rewarding medium. Together we’ll explore everything from selecting and using brushes to mixing color, understanding values, creating depth, and building a painting in thoughtful layers.
I’ll share the step-by-step approach and methods that I have found to produce the best results, helping you gain confidence as you paint and understand why each step matters. You’ll also learn about oil painting materials, drying times, blending techniques, and tips that will set you up for future success.
Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or are looking to expand your artistic journey, this class offers a relaxed, supportive environment where you can slow down, enjoy the process, and experience the joy of painting with oils.
All materials are provided, and you’ll leave on the second week with a beautiful finished painting, new skills, and the confidence to continue exploring the wonderful world of oil painting.
